Fight Off Decision Fatigue

My days vary depending on the week but one thing never changes; decisions are handled by me and mostly me.

At home I am considered ‘Head of household‘. I organize all the household happenings to ensure we steer clear of the danger zone of running low on all household supplies. I am also the one who creates mental (and physical) running checklists of items and then spends the time ordering said items.

How many decisions can one person make?

Amazon, Instacart, PayPal and more long winded conversations with automated systems are littered throughout my week. When someone needs a doctor appointment, I’m usually the one checking and rechecking the Google calendar to ensure the time is free. I keep a close watch on our stocks, insurance, any warning lights in the cars (along with keeping them clean!), bill payments, automated or otherwise. It’s up to me to remember birthdays and holidays along with appropriately accompanied gifts and signed cards. Afterward, I’m usually the one who shuffles them off to the post office. Can we all agree, that place is a nightmare all of its own?

When needed, I refresh the flowers in our home, hire the maids, replace air filters, cook 80% of meals, take care of one crazy cat and still more I’m sure…
