Dear Fellow Americans,

I know that times are hard to say the least. I know we are all confused, upset, scared, anxious, and even feeling a little lost. I know you may have lost your job or worse a loved one. I feel your pain. I have lost loved ones during this time as well and business has been touch and go. I know you might even be looking in the mirror asking yourself, ‘What’s the point?’ some mornings. It’s hard to find a reason for ‘Why’ things are they way they are while continuing to have faith in knowing they will one day be okay again.

I know you’re thinking ‘Fuck this virus’ because I’m thinking that too. Every. Single. Day.

But, that doesn’t give you a right to treat anyone without compassion or goodwill. You don’t have the right to invade someone’s personal space at the post office because you don’t believe the pandemic is a ‘real threat’. You don’t get to verbally accost those who, like myself, are choosing to do the minimum; wear masks, in order to protect ourselves. It won’t kill you to observe the little signs on the ground for social distancing rules without the exasperated sighing and grumpy mumbling. And you certainly shouldn’t make someone feel unsafe by following them to the parking lot to spew political hearsay and baseless “facts” at them. All of which have personally happened to me, an immunocompromised
